Late last week Beast, the bar/restaurant mainstay on Vanderbilt Avenue, was shuttered by the DOH. The DOH website isn’t illuminating the reasons behind the closure, since it looks like the restaurant only racked up 15 points for flies, faulty plumbing, and some improper sanitation during a December 1st inspection. (The eatery did get a hefty 55 points during an inspection over the summer, however.) As of this morning, the DOH signs still graced the front door.
