The space, which has been vacant for several months now, has been gutted and the old storefront has been completely removed. Activity has been slow-going, and none of the neighboring businesses know what's slated for the space. It's a prime corner in a gorgeous old building, so hopefully it'll breathe some life into the corner. Better not be a burger place!
UPDATE: This just in from someone associated with the North Flatbush Avenue BID: “The sole owner of this new restaurant is Greg Yerman, the owner of Burrito Bar and Kitchen. We just went to before CB8 community board and a liquor license was approved. This will be a totally different restaurant from Burrito Bar, it will be a cozy, farm to table, organic restaurant serving chicken, fish and beef. There is a 6 seat bar at the Flatbush Entrance. Organically grown foods will be served seasonally. It will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. There will also be an outdoor open cafe similar to Burrito Bar with about 10-12 tables. Greg and the BID have been in communication with the Carlton Avenue Block Assoc. He will continue to keep with the same stipulations that is expected of him as a good neighbor and businessman.”
